About Kate
Hi there — I’m Kate Patchett.
I’ve been designing kitchens since 2003, after graduating from Marywood University with a BFA in Interior Architecture. I began my design career as a kitchen design specialist at The Home Depot in Ithaca, NY, where I quickly became the lead designer and order expediter.
After a few years, I was ready for more creative freedom and joined Custom Craft Cabinets in Binghamton, NY. There, I was able to design fully customized kitchens, incorporating thoughtful details that made every project unique to the homeowner.
In 2014, I also pursued a career in massage therapy. While that became my primary focus for a time, I remained connected to my Custom Craft Cabinets family and continued designing kitchens on a freelance basis whenever clients requested my help.
Now I’m bringing that experience together through Studio Kate.
Over the years, I’ve developed a design process that ensures every kitchen I create is thoughtfully planned around the way each homeowner lives. I believe great kitchens begin with intentional design — understanding how the space will function, where everything belongs, and how it will feel to use every day.
One of my favorite moments is hearing from clients after their kitchen is finished. When someone tells me they love their storage, enjoy cooking again, or think of me while using their kitchen, I know the design truly worked.
I look forward to helping you create a kitchen you’ll love living in.
